Thanksgiving Food Drive, 2020 Edition!

2020 may be fraught with challenges, but there’s still much to be thankful for! Our annual Thanksgiving food drive will look a bit different this year, but we are determined to keep this Christ Church tradition of sharing love at the holiday alive and well! There are many families in need who will welcome all the fixin’s for a delicious holiday feast.

Our goal this year is 150 bags of all the nonperishable Thanksgiving necessities. There are two ways to help: Buy all of the items in the list below and return your filled bag to church, or donate monetarily so we can purchase all the fixin’s and pack a bag for you. Thanks to a generous donation at the end of last year’s drive, we can purchase $20 grocery gift cards for all 150 bags! So we just need your help buying the food. Here’s what we’d like in each bag:

2 cans of vegetables (peas, carrots, green beans, etc.)

1 can of cranberry sauce

1 box of mashed potatoes

1 can or packet of gravy

1 box of cornbread mix

1 box of stuffing

1 dessert mix

The window to donate filled bags is Oct 1 – Nov 6:

  • You can bring your filled bag to church during Sunday service (8:45 – 10 am) Oct 4, 11, 18, 26, and Nov 1. There will be a table in the courtyard where you can drop off your bag.
  • You can drop your bag off at the Thrift Shop garage in the alley between 10-11 am on the following Wednesdays: Oct 7, 14, 21, 28, and Nov 4. Smiling volunteers will be on hand to collect your bag – you don’t even need to leave your car!
  • You can drop your bag in front of the church office door Monday-Thursday, 10 am-2 pm Oct 5-Nov 5.

The window to donate money is Oct 1 – 31:

Monetary donations can be made via credit card at this link, or you can mail a check to the church office and note “Thanksgiving” in the memo line. Any amount is welcome! All monetary donations must be received by Oct 31 so we’ll have time to purchase food and pack bags.

Thank you for your generosity!
