May 15, 2018 Happy Birthday to the Church!
The Sunday that is seven weeks (50 days) after Easter Day is the Feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is the day on which we remember the story given to us in the second chapter of the Book of Acts. Pentecost is the birthday of the church, and all are encouraged to wear red as a symbol of the power and fire of the Holy Spirit. It will be a full day of celebrations and activities not the least of which is the annual Pentecost Picnic and the "mile-long" banana split (for the little ones.)
Once again there will be a delicious barbeque lunchwith all the fix-in's after the 10:00 a.m. service. If you can't stay, you can have a plate to go. A $10 per person or $25 per family donation is requested. This year the food will be provided by Smoke n Aces BBQ.
