April 19, 2021 Family Fun for Earth Day
Laughter, learning and exploration are things that every family enjoys. This Earth Day, Christ Church families are invited to explore the beauty of God's creation right outside their door, learn about pollinators and the magic of a spider's web, and laugh with the sun on their faces and grass beneath their feet. Family connection is so important. Being able to use that time to further connect to God is a gift. A backyard scavenger hunt is a great way to do all of these things!
All you need to do is download the pdf scavenger hunt, grab a bag or a basket, some crayons and scrap paper and you are on your way!
When you are finished, take a few minutes to talk about all the wonderful things you found. Then close with the following prayer For Joy in God’s Creation, found in the Book of Common Prayer on page 814.
O heavenly Father, who hast filled the world with beauty:
Open our eyes to behold thy gracious hand in all thy works;
that, rejoicing in thy whole creation, we may learn to serve
thee with gladness; for the sake of him through whom all
things were made, thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
