July 9, 2020 Bridgers Backpack Drive a la Coronavirus!

In July of a normal year, we begin our backpack and school supplies drive to help low-income kids start the school year right. At Rev Anne's retirement, we decided to rename our annual drive in her honor since it was such a favorite event for her each year. But 2020 is not a normal year! Both St Mark's in City Heights and St John's in Fallbrook have suspended their back-to-school events due to COVID-19. We usually support these two churches plus kids in the Vista Unified School District via North County Lifeline every year by supplying them with hundreds of backpacks. North County Lifeline has been providing vital services to families throughout the pandemic and that work will continue in the fall when kids go back to school, be it online or in a modified way in classrooms. You donated so generously to last year's backpack fundraising drive that we were able to roll-over $1,070 in funds to kick off our 2020 drive. Your Service Ministry Team voted to use all those funds to purchase 50 filled backpacks for North County Lifeline to distribute to kids in need. We placed the order this week! Thank you!
