“Joining God’s Work in the World”

One of the most significant and impactful ministries of Christ Church is our Thrift Shop. In operation for well over 50 years, and managed and staffed entirely by volunteers, 100% of proceeds are used to support a wide range of parish activities and outreach efforts at the diocesan, national, and international levels. In 2019 alone, over $100,000 in funds were provided to worthwhile ministries, including Christ Church Day School; Showers of Blessings, offering showers to the homeless; PAWS, our local animal welfare group; Warrior Freedom Station, aiding veterans; the San Diego Food Bank; Vida Joven, an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico; the Episcopal Refugee Network; St. Paul’s Senior Homes and Services; Canine Companions for Veterans; as well as various other projects of The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego.

Beyond its vital financial outreach, by offering a place to purchase quality merchandise at a very low cost, our Thrift Shop provides help to low income families and fellowship for volunteers and shoppers who’ve developed relationships over the years. Volunteer managers and workers come not only from our church, but from the Coronado community at large. The shop is open for sales and donations Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm.
