Hinde Society

For those who have included Christ Episcopal Church in their wills or estate plans, we have formed the Hinde Society. Named in honor of Captain Charles T. Hinde, a benefactor of the church at its very beginning, the Hinde Society celebrates those parishioners who have made a commitment to ensuring the future of Christ Church. Legacy stewardship is key to funding mission and ministries in our church, now and in the years to come. The Society periodically holds fun social events for their members and guests.

Christ Church Men’s Bible Study Group

Our Men’s Bible Study Group was formed in 1994 by a group of men who wanted to provide an opportunity for study and fellowship at a time of day when working individuals could attend.  We meet for an hour of coffee, prayer and scripture at 6:30 am every Tuesday morning. Our group includes 10-15 dedicated “regulars” including our faithful leader, Floyd. We are lucky to have two of the original “plank-holder” members of the group. Our format of study revolves around a reading of the scriptures from the liturgical calendar for the week, followed by a professionally prepared synopsis and discussion. Many a life-long friendship has been formed in this group. Ages of participants is usually 40 and up, but we welcome guests at any time. In our dreams, we would like to see our numbers increase to the 20-25 we have enjoyed in the recent past. We would also like to have our new rector—regardless of gender—as a regular attendee and source of spiritual encouragement.
