Christ Church Coronado has a long history of keeping a Holy Lent through special programming offered at church. This year our focus is on Lenten Practices.

More than giving things up (chocolate, wine, social media) or taking things on (a new workout routine, healthy eating), a practice is a way to enrich your faith and your connection to Christ during this Holy Season.

Even the word practice lends itself to Lent.

Below are a list of Lenten pracitices that will be offered at Christ Church. We invite you to look through the list and consider which of these might be part of your Lenten journey. Will you PRACTICE your faith by attending Holy Week services? Will you PRACTICE love during our Wednesday evening program? Will you PRACTICE prayer and reflection by walking the labyrinth or visiting the stations of the cross? There are so many practices to choose from, and all are rich, holy, and offer the opportunity to deepen your faith. This Lent, won't you PRACTICE with us?

Labyrinth Walk- The labyrinth will be available in the Christ Church courtyard between 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings between March 13-April 17.

Stations of the Cross - Join the Daughters of the King as they walk and prya the Stations of the Cross in the church. Wednesday evenings at 6:15 p.m.

Mary, Our Lenten Companion - Adult Forum - The season of Lent invites those who choose on an intentional journey... a journey which brings us closer to the heart of God. What better companion than Mary of Nazareth who is recognized as Theotokos, the God-bearer. Mary lived life as it came to her with no more surety than we have but who, regardless, went on in faith. Our Lenten forums will reflect upon Mary as people have seen her and named her over the ages and who accompanies us along the way in our own day!

Hinde Hall

9:00 a.m.

March 10 - April 7

Sunday Supper - St. Patrick - March 17th, 5:00 p.m. - This evening meal/worship time is a wonderful opportunity to come together in an informal gathering to read the Word, offer prayers, share communion, and enjoy a simple Sunday meal. This month we will celebrate St. Patrick in story and song, drive the snakes out of Ireland (or Hinde Hall), and finish with a baked potato bar.

Service Ministry Head Start Book Drive - The earlier children are exposed to books and reading, the better they do in school and in life. There are 2,000 children in Episcopal Community Service's Head Start program who need our help. This year we are partnering with Christ Church Day School to collect new and gently used children's books for ages 0-4. These books will go to headstart campuses all over San Diego.
