June 25, 2020 Meet Michelle Wolfe, a member of the Christ Church Call Committee
Most of you know me as William’s mom, which is wonderful. I adore being a mother in every way except the lack of sleep! Other than being a mother, I am also a military brat, Air Force veteran, Navy wife, and former State Department employee. I was born in Germany and raised as an Army brat. My dad retired when I was 15 and I enlisted in the Air Force when I was 19. I married the love of my life, Charlie, when I was 21. I have a Master’s Degree in Applied Health Sciences, specializing in Recreation, Sports, & Tourism. Prior to our move to Coronado in 2018, we have spent the past 11 years overseas and traveled to more than 50 countries together. It should come as no surprise that staying active and travel are huge passions of mine and I can’t wait to take William on adventures with us.
When I was asked to join the Church Call Committee, I initially hesitated. This is a huge responsibility and not one I take lightly. After much thinking (and praying), I said yes and I am so happy that I did. I grew up in the Catholic faith and did not become Episcopalian until our move to Coronado. This process has given me a much better understanding of the Episcopal Church and how it works. The Call Committee is currently in the process of reviewing applicants and their submitted materials, discerning as a team who we want to interview, and conducting interviews. This is all on a “rolling basis”, so at any meeting we could be doing 1 or all 3 of these steps. With Christ Church Coronado accepting applications through the end of the month, final candidates will most likely be notified this summer. Our current intent is to have a Pastor in place for Advent.
We have some wonderful applicants and I know that no matter who is selected, Christ Church will be very lucky.
Warm Regards,
Michelle Wolfe
