Pastoral Care Ministry

We need you...the helping hands and willing hearts of parish members to accomplish our mission in reaching out and sharing God's love with our parish community at Christ Church.

We are calling out to all cooks and willing hosts and hostesses! The Fellowship Group is responsible for hospitality needs when we have a special church event.

We have special needs too! We need help in responding to the needs of parish members with special concerns - perhaps providing transportation to a doctor's appointment, making a phone call, or taking delicious home made food items from the Christ Church Martha's Cupboard freezer to someone in need.

Pastoral Care welcomes you to join us.

Mission

The purpose of Pastoral Care Ministry is to promote Christian fellowship, caring and well-being within the parish, and to provide imporved opportunities for increased social contact among parishioners. The mission of Pastoral Care Ministry is to reach out and share God's love by being present and supportive to our parish community. The ministry groups included in Pastoral Care Ministry are:

* Visitation

Responding to the needs of parish members with special concerns. This special service ensures communication with the church office and with parish members, especially parish members with special needs, to help ensure their well-being. The CARE -LINK contact also ensures that food from Martha’s Cupboard is provided to those in need.

* Martha's Cupboard

Emergency food service for those in need in our parish community. Food preparation provides the opportunity to increase social contact with members who participate. The church freezer is stocked with labeled and dated meals that are available to be taken to parish members and community members in need.

* Fellowship

Meeting the hospitality needs of our parish community events. Fellowship is a central group of volunteers who respond to the social and hospitality needs for annual scheduled events (Christmas Party, Shrove Tuesday Supper, etc). Also, the Fellowship Committee supports the hospitality needs for other ministry group programs at Christ Church.

* Lay Eucharisth Visitation (LEV)

Providing a visit that includes prayer, Eucharist and a connection to Christ Church for parish members who desire a visit and who cannot attend scheduled service.

* Daughters of the King & St. Mary's Guild

Daughters of the King is composed of members of the Pilgrims of Christ Chapter of the Daughters of the King – an order for women of the Episcopal Church. St. Mary’s Guild ensures continued opportunities to provide fellowship and foster friendship among women at Christ Church.

All interested women are invited to participate.
