I cannot write about the wonderful events of May, June and July without sharing the deep loss that we suffered in March of one of our beloved choir members, Arthur Wheatfall. He has shared his rich, strong bass voice and deep faith in the Lord with us for the past six years. We miss him terribly!
Our "faithful", loving ahd "healing" God gives us the strength and courage to move forward in ministry, as we (the choir) continue to spread His message of love and peace through the gift of music every Sunday and special services. I am pleased to announce the addition of two new choir members, Michael Morgan and Joe Pettigrew.
I cannot move forward without giving our choir members who faithfully rehearse and minister EVERY week of the year! What a blessing they are to the Lord, the congregation and me! I am filled with gratitude to every one of them for their faithfulness and dedication to Music Ministry! Thanks!
One event that you will want to put on your calendar is: Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 4:00 p.m.. We will be "doubly blessed" on that Sunday, when we will be hosting the "Spirituals Festival". Our sanctuary will be resounding with many voices from our choir joining in "moving/soulful" spirituals with members of several other excellent choirs of San Diego and under the direction of Michael Morgan. A celebration reception will be held afterwards.
On Sunday, July 6th music ministry will be joining in musical tribute to our Military with members of the Navy Band at Armed Forces Sunday. Another joyous Sunday, as we gather together to lift our praises in prayer and thanksgiving to our gracious Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ!
