Bible Study
Rev. Edward Harrison leads a weekly Bible study class, Thursday mornings 10:45-11:45 a.m. in Hinde Hall following the 10:00 a.m. Healing Service.
Library
There are a number of library books that are missing from the library. No cards are on file for the borrows. If you borrow books from the library at Christ Church please look through this list to see if one of the missing books is with you. We would like them returned to the library
Adult Forums - Sunday 9:00 a.m - Hinde Hall
January 8 - The Feasibility Study
What’s the buzz…tell me what’s a ’happening.” There is much talk about our Feasibility Study in preparation for a capital campaign for the church and school. The study begins next Sunday, January 15 and will run through Sunday, February 5. What is a feasibility study; what is its purpose, and do we participate in it? These questions and more will be addressed at this Adult Forum. Come and get "in-forumed"!
January 15 - The Episcopal Church from the Civil War through Civil Rights
As Black History month approaches, and with The Help fresh on video, come for a review of the Episcopal Church's involvement, for better or worse, in civil rights. We'll take a big picture look at history with a final emphasis on the ongoing reconciliation within and without the church.
January 22 & 29 - Deconstructed Eucharist
Ever wondered why we wear vestments, or sit or stand at certain times, or where our Eucharistic Prayers came from? And what’s with people crossing themselves at various points in the liturgy? Often we answer these questions in a special service called an Instructed Eucharist, which takes place during a regular service, with educational commentary along the way. But rather than add time to the worship service, we thought we'd deconstruct the Instructed Eucharist, and answer all those burning questions in a much more interactive way during the Adult Forum.
Christian Formation Ministry
Christ Church has established the Christian Formation Ministry to shape and sustain our education programs. In the near-term, the ministry will focus on providing qualified, enthusiastic leaders for our child and youth education offerings. At the same time, we will be working to expand opporutnities for all of our church family to enrich their lives through Christian education. These opportunities exist within our parish, our diocese, and our community. Ministry members include Steve Crawford (chair), Lissy Rooney, Barbara DeMichele, Louise Cate, Alex de la Lama, Caleb French, Hester Held, Joanie Huck, and Phil Hunsaker (Vestry representative.) Feel free to provide any of the ministry members with your thoughts or desires on how we can deliver Christian Education in a forum that lifts your spirit!
The Christian Formation Ministry Charter: The Christian Formation Ministry seeks to provide lifelong opportunities to grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord and supports programs that provide educational opportunities and resources to parishioners of all ages at Christ Church. Specifically, the Christian Formation Ministry shall:
- Offer coordinated, intentional and well-developed educational ministry for children, youth and adults.
- Enrich celebration of liturgical seasons through education.
- Connect with Diocesan education programs.
- Provide opportunities for spiritual renewal.
- Ensure programs are promoted and supported by a wide spectrum of parishioners.
