A Word From the Interim Rector
There are several wonderful events coming up soon at Christ Church.
On the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, May 25, we will have a fun parish picnic after the 9:30 a.m. service. To make this a fun activity for all, we will have the food catered barbeque style and will be asking for donations to cover the cost. More information will be forthcoming in your weekly e-newsletter and Sunday bulletins.
On June 15, Bishop Jim Mathes will be at Christ Church for his annual visitation. This is a great celebration in any parish, and I know that we are all delighted to welcome him that day. He will receive a group of people into the Episcopal Church, and most importantly, he will be here to celebrate and preach as our Chief Pastor. Details on this day will also be found in the Sunday bulletin and the weekly e-newsletter.
On July 6, Christ Church will celebrate our annual Armed Forces Sunday. The speaker at the 9:30 a.m. Eucharist will be Admiral Bud Edney, USN retired. The Sunday will be part of the 4th of July celebrations going on all over Coronado that weekend, and we are honored that Admiral Edney will be speaking that day. Again, look for upcoming details.
With all of these happenings, as well as our regular round of Sunday Forums and Worship, the Search Committee continues hard at work. The new Rector of Christ Church will be coming to a place alive and thriving, making a difference in people's lives and the life of the world.
