Memorial Garden
The Christ Church Memorial Garden is dedicated to the Greater Glory of God and to the memories of those who have gone before us. It is the final resting place for the cremated remains of parishioners, their families, and others for whom it is appropriate. It is a place of peace and repose for all who wish to visit it, and may be used in a variety of Parish gatherings, when it may be a place of praise, joy, conversation and laughter.
The Christ Church Memorial Garden was consecrated in 2001 as a place to inter cremated mortal remains. It is located in a secluded area between the Sanctuary and the Parish Hall.

A plot plan has been drawn which shows a grid of the garden. There are 542 individual plots drawn on the plan. For a suggested contribution of $500 to the Christ Church Memorial fund, members may reserve individual plots for future use. This donation covers the cost of the burial, engraving a name plate, and ongoing garden maintenance. The availability of plots to non-members will be considered on a case by case basis. There is no limit to how many people may be interred in the same plot. The right is reserved to request additional donations in the case of multiple burials.
A deed like certificate and a plan showing the plot number and location of the plot will be provided, and a memorial plate will be placed on the plaque which is located in the library. Complete records will be maintained in the church office.
Burial in the garden will be done by the clergy using the Book of Common Prayer. Arrangements should be made with the Rector and the Parish Office. As with all of Christ Church’s property, uses of the Memorial Garden will be at the discretion of the Rector and with the approval of the Vestry.
Ashes may be buried in a biodegradable container, or poured directly into the ground. Numbered sites represent specific locations but are not visibly marked. The ashes become a permanent part of the garden, and may not be recovered.
The names and dates of those whose ashes are in the garden will be placed on a memorial plaque located in the Sanctuary.
Donations in the memory of a loved one are gratefully accepted.
Although the garden is consecrated ground, no restriction will be placed on walking on the grass in the area.
