I Will with God's Help - For those wishing to become Episcopalian when the Bishop comes to Christ Church, this will be your class. Beginning this week, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hinde Hall Library for the four Wednesdays in May. You may sign up by contacting the parish office .

Adult Forum for Sunday - 9:00 a.m. , Hinde Hall -Tibet and the Olympics - Since the lighting of the Olympic torch in Greece on March 24, this year's Olympic Games have been fraught with controversy. This Sunday we'll share some of the history of Tibet and China and the struggle of Tibetans for more freedom. We'll dicuss the issue of whether using an international sports event meant to bring people of the world together, to focus on the human rights of the host country is appropriate or not. This program will be led by Bill Green.

Parish Events
Service Saturday - The upcoming "hands-on" service opportunity, sponsored by the Service Ministry is Saturday morning, May 17, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. We are scheduled to go to the San Diego Food Bank, to sort food in their warehouse. Everyone (over the age of 6) is invited. We will be carpooling. Look for the signup sheet in the courtyard. Remember to bring your contributions of canned and boxed food to church each Sunday. Check out the items for the special Summer Food Drive. Every little bit helps!
2008 Pledge Update - To date 192 pledge cards have been received totaling $484,279 - a little under $16,000 short of our 2008 campaign goal of $500,000. If you have not yet pledged - it's not too late. This is a year-round campaign. The size of your pledge is not as important as your commitment to the support of this parish and its mission. Join with your fellow parshioners in their work to proclaim the love of Christ for all. Pledge today!

* Parish Picnic - Join your fellow parishioners for a picnic after the 9:30 a.m. service on Memorial Day weekend, Sunday, May 25. No fuss, no muss - food will be catered by The Barbarcue Pit - just a $5 contribution.
* Parish Work Day - Saturday, June 7, 9:00 a.m.-12 noon To make sure our church is ship shape for the Bishop's visit we'll need all hands-on deck - lots of jobs to lend your expertise to; painting, polishing, planting, washing, dusting, and organizing. Look for the signup sheets after services in the courtyard.
