Sunday, June 7 - Next Sunday is a busy Sunday. We will be commissioning the Pilgrims who leave for Ireland on June 14, honoring our graduates, and The St. Petersburg Men's Ensemble, from Russia, will be singing during the 10:00 a.m. service. In addition the Service Ministry will be asking the parishioners help in packing food bags for the homeless, after the 8:00 and 10 a.m. services.
Special Offering - June 7 will be the third of five special offerings for this calendar year. Funds raised with this offering will be used to help with the refurbishment at 901 C Avenue. The building is currently being used for Catechesis on Sunday mornings, and, in the fall, will be the site of the day school's new Junior Kindergarten program. The school and church are sharing the cost of basic repairs that are needed to bring the long neglected property to working order for these important programs.
Parish Work Day - Our spring Parish Work Day is Saturday June 13 - 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Come early for doughnuts, juice and coffee then spend a few hours helping with the projects we need to attend to to keep our parish in tip-top shape. Signup in the courtyard after services.
A Trip to Dorcas House - Teresa Harrison would like some company on a visit Saturday, June 20, to Dorcas House, the orphanage run by the Diocese of San Diego. Here are the details from trip coordinator Colin Mathewson: We'll be meeting at the St. Paul's Cathedral parking lot (2728 Sixth Ave) at 11:30 a.m., parking at the border at 12:00 noon, walking across and eating a few tacos, then taking a group taxi to Dorcas House to arrive about 1:30 p.m. or so. The current plan is that we'd go with the children to the waterslides at the park for a couple hours. We should get back to our cars at the border by 5:00 p.m. or so, and should be back downtown by 6:00 p.m. at the latest. Should be about $15 per person for transportation. Folks will need valid passports. Contact the parish office if you are interested in coming along.
Icon Writing Workshop - June 22 - 26, 2009, Hinde Hall - Teresa Harrison will lead a 5 day retreat in which participants learn the prayerful practice of painting or "writing" a Byzantine style icon. For more information

July 27-31, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Students 5th grade and up can serve in a leadership capacity and earn service hours. We are still in need of adult volunteers for some specific jobs.
