April 30, 2018 It's Bike to School Day!

Did you know that May is National Bike Month? May 18 is National Bike to Work Day AND May 9 is Bike to School Day. According to the league of American Bicyclists  40% of all trips in the U.S. are less than two miles, making bicycling a feasible and fun way to get to around. That fact was never so true as here in Coronado. Biking is good exercise, helps reduce traffic, and is a good transportation choice for the environment.

Christ Church and Christ Church Day School will be celebrating this year’s Bike to School Day by encouraging students and families to make the trip to and from school on their bicycles. The day school will hold a special all-school assembly that afternoon with Officer Mannello, from the Coronado Police Department as guest speaker, who will provide bicycle safety tips and emphasize good biking behavior.

If your family rides bikes to school or work you are invited to a “ride-by blessing” that morning. The Rev. Anne Bridgers will be located on the Ninth Street side of the church from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and will perform a quick blessing for you and your bicycle as you travel to your destination. All are welcome.

Christ Church is located at the corner of Ninth Street and C Avenue. Parking is available in the church lot directly opposite the campus on C Avenue. For more information you can contact the parish office – 619-435-4561 or www.christchurchcoronado.org. The Episcopal Church welcomes you!
